The Cochrane Lions Rodeo

2022 marks the 55th annual Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo which will be hosted through the September long weekend.

Still considered one of the toughest Amateur Rodeo’s in Canada and FCA sanctioned, we follow closely in the footsteps to the infamous Calgary Stampede.

Rodeo Roots

In recent years, our non-profit Cochrane Rodeo has become one of the largest community projects hosted by the Cochrane Lions Club. This event requires tremendous support from over 75 Sponsors and nearly 150 Volunteers and committee chairpersons. C’mon out to Cochrane Alberta and enjoy a little Western hospitality and a whole lot of nail-biting excitement.

In the 1990’s the Lions Club began to focus their efforts on creating a family weekend by incorporating children’s entertainment, local vendors, outdoor family entertainment, the biggest parade of the year, fireworks, live entertainment and our always popular Saturday Night Dance. The hosting of these events created a major tourist attraction to the Town of Cochrane with thousands of out-of-towners visiting our small western community.
